Off during first half
Hien was forced off the field in the 37th minute of Thursday's match against Japan due to an apparent muscle injury.
Analysis: Hien would stretch for a ball in the first half, and that would lead to his exit, appearing to stretch his leg too far and suffer a muscle injury in his thigh or groin region. At initial glance, the injury does appear to be somewhat serious and could keep him out the rest of the tournament, as anything in the hamstring or groin injury will take two to three weeks to recover from. Victor Lindelof will likely drop back into the defense while Lucas Bergvall earns a starting spot if Hien is out the rest of the tournament. However, they will hope scans will show something less major and encourage a potential return at the World Cup.
Pair of tackles in loss
Hien registered two tackles (two won) and three clearances in Saturday's 5-1 loss versus Netherlands.
Analysis: Hien made a pair of tackles and three clearances during Saturday's loss. The defender was busy in a one-sided loss, but it certainly wasn't a good performance in a 5-1 defeat. Hien is going to need to bounce back in a big way if Sweden want to win in the third match of the group stage and guarantee their spot in the knockout round.
