Four shots in 3-0 loss
McTominay recorded four shots (three on goal) in Wednesday's 3-0 loss to Brazil.
Analysis: McTominay had the best of Scotland's chances as they lost 3-0 to Brazil. He will hope that other results go in Scotland's favour and they can qualify as one of the best third-placed teams so he can continue his strong form for Scotland in this tournament. He forced Alisson Becker to make a few strong saves on their way to victory. He has taken at least two shots in each of the games in this World Cup, but this was the first match where he put a shot on target, putting three on target in total.
Two shots versus Morocco
McTominay had two shots (zero on goal) and one chance created in Friday's 1-0 loss to Morocco.
Analysis: McTominay managed two shots in his second straight match to start this World Cup, but once again he failed to put either shot on target. His best chance came late on in the match where he jumped high to attempt a scissor kick on John McGinn's cross but failed to connect cleanly. He also created one chance on the attack. Despite an early error, McTominay and the Scottish defense played fairly well, holding Morocco to just two shots on target. With everything to play for in the final group stage match versus Brazil on Wednesday, McTominay will need to be at his absolute best in order to send his country through to the knockouts.
