Registers clean sheet
Asare registered three saves and allowed zero goals in Tuesday's 0-0 draw against England.
Analysis: Asare produced a composed performance to help Ghana earn a valuable clean sheet. He made three saves, including one from inside the box. He prevented 0.37 goals (xG) and handled England's aerial threat confidently and also made a clearance. He now has two clean sheets this World Cup.
Subs on in WC opener
Asare had three saves and allowed zero goals in Wednesday's 1-0 win over Panama.
Analysis: Lawrence Ati-Zigli was given the starting nod for Ghana in the opening match of the World Cup, but he was forced off at halftime with an undisclosed injury. Asare replaced him for the second half and kept Panama out of the back of the net with three saves and two clearances. He wasn't forced to make any otherworldly save, but he was a stable force between the posts despite the unusual situation of having to come off the bench. It's unclear whether Ati-Zigli will be able to return for the next match, but whoever starts in goal will have a very tough matchup versus an England side which just put four past Croatia.
