Subbed off on Tuesday
Ayew recorded two crosses (zero accurate) and two corners in Tuesday's 0-0 draw versus England.
Analysis: Ayew battled hard before making way in the 67th minute, winning five of his 12 ground duels while also drawing three fouls. He also contributed defensively with two tackles and a clearance but was unable to test the goalkeeper. He covered over seven kilometers trying to maintain Ghana's defensive shape.
Three crosses in WC opener
Ayew had three crosses (one accurate) and one chance created in Wednesday's 1-0 victory versus Panama.
Analysis: Ayew started up top for Ghana's opening match of the World Cup, the third World Cup of his career. Despite starting at striker -- and captaining the team -- he did not even take a shot in the match, partially because he was acting as more of a creative option and partially because the Ghana attack did not create many chances. He finished the match with three crosses and one chance created and was subbed off for Prince Adu in the 87th minute. Ayew has now made seven World Cup appearances but has yet to score, and that will be more difficult now with two difficult remaining group matches versus England and then Croatia.
